honestly for certain classes(math, science, csci) i study by repetition. just doing practice problems constantly until i understand the “why” and not just the “how”. for classes that are more conceptual in nature(english, media, humanities), i just read a lot. being a better reader in classes like these helps a lot because it helps improve your skills at analysis and interpretation. i like reading relevant papers as well as books on my own time. for classes like history which are both analytical and involve memory, i try to remember some key ideas and facts, but more the big idea. if i can remember the general vibe of the time period, then it makes it somewhat easier(for me at least) to remember key events and people when asked. good luck!
