It’s two parts,
First getting your Gen Ed requirements, you do this through the standard transfer process.

Most of your credits will be evaluated as 499 (blank elective that will count towards total credit needs for graduation, but not towards any major), as the transfer office is quite limited in what they accept, if it’s not on the approved list they won’t be able to do anything.
If you’ve done some work already toward a major at your previous college and want to see if those transfer over, Afterwards sit down with the major’s department chair/counselor and re-evaluate your transfer credits. This is where they can turn those 499s into actual useful credits for the major.
Depending on the department policies and how well your previous school’s reputation is, the results will differ from person to person.
