Our fees will increase, and as a religious person myself, I feel like this is a terrible cost to students. I am a Christian, I believe in the right to make a personal choice, and people who are nonbelievers will be forced to pay for something that they cannot participate in and I think that’s unfair. I love the idea of a place to pray, but I will not support a public-based institution’s infringement on others’ beliefs. Funding should come from donations made by faith-based institutions—not the student body. Also, our elevators hardly work, we are overcrowded, and we have a lack of class space availability. A praying space is not urgently necessary. Students don’t have a place to study on campus and sitting on the floor is all we have. Let’s fight for a reduction of students accepted and extra study spaces. I hope my opinion doesn’t offend anyone
