Yeah, they open things up globally IF you’re willing to pay. I had a dispute about a grade when I attended because 80% of the class got caught cheating and we were on a curve.

The dean straight up said “people on that side of the world are used to cheating, so we can’t punish them”, this was after the professor made a directed statement at the beginning of the class of what cheating is and don’t play coy if you get in trouble for it.

After pushing the dean about it (the professor put it in an email), the dean conceded that international students always pay full tuition so they can’t discipline them because they would lose too much tuition money.

The quality of education and students were nothing special too. I took a few classes at state schools and worked for a CUNY and outside of newer, nicer buildings, I’d hire CUNY first because they at least had common sense before getting suckered into spending that much money.

Tuition even after aid is still insane, I was lucky in that I overloaded my schedule and worked so my debt was manageable, but I knew people who came out with $300k of debt and didn’t live any sort of crazy lifestyle.

And they’ve bought up so much of the surrounding area that people have been gentrified out of downtown.

It’s great you’re enjoying it, but it’s a middling school that markets itself very well with celebrity alum and being in NYC.
