Would you rather live to regret not taking up the engineering degree?
I had this same issue with architecture. Delayed my graduated 2 years because I kept refusing to study for math 180 (nearly got myself kicked out of the arch program for good), but in those two years I knocked out all my general education classes and learned more about architecture, studied math like a motherfucker, and learned some of the software to keep myself up to pace.
I’m happy I didn’t drop architecture because of my math placement. In 2 years I’ll have my degree and a hell of a story to tell my grandkids about how I kept going despite all the doubts and challenges I’ve experienced.
I also got to travel for different architecture and engineering conferences, worked at 3 different architectural firms, and have made a lot of cool connections and friends.
It gets worse before it gets any better.
