if there’s no written policy against grammarly or citation machine i would first make that point. if this unwritten policy negatively impacts your grade and the professor refuses to adjust it i would complain to the department head. theres no legitimate reason to ban either of those tools. i personally don’t use grammarly but idk anyone who regularly writes research papers without some sort of reference compiler. i am working on a masters in ed (my undergrad was from qc but my grad work is elsewhere) and use citation machine for everything i submit, though its been crapping the bed lately and i had to find an alternative this week
