You are taking it a bit to the extremes, no ? OP, I had a balance w cuny from 2020-2024. It was sent to collections however I never received a single call/letter regarding it. I paid the agency the balance plus their additional fees and applied to enroll the following week. Times are hard, it’s understandable. Take care of it when you can. Communicate . It’s important to pay your bills and take on only what you can realistically .. but life be lifing . Good luck
