So if you do want to try NYU, a cc could be the best option because a couple community colleges have pipeline programs which give incentive to students from that CC with scholarships and financial assistance depending on the major you would want to enter NYU for, CUNY are also CC if you didn’t know cuz you did say skip community and join cuny. As for credits, it’ll have no impact on credits due to the fact all cuny s have equally transferable credits so any issues you may have when transferring, if they did happen, would be the same issues from 2 and 4 years to NYU. As for covering a full year of credits, do you mean in payment or how many credits you take? Also, would you ever think about transferring out of New York?
