salary post grad
Hi everyone,
As a senior graduating from Baruch this year, I wanted to share some positivity during this time when many of us are feeling anxious about finding a job and deciding what to do next.
I never joined any clubs or participated in extracurricular activities at Baruch, although I know they can be helpful in a job search. My experience includes one full-time job unrelated to my major and a year-long internship at an accounting firm. Today, I have two job offers: one from the accounting firm and another from an investment management firm as an Analyst.
I chose the Finance Fund Analyst position, and the compensation package is better, with a salary of $80K plus bonus and 401k match. I will begin in August!
I come from an immigrant family, had no special connections, but I had confidence and persistence. I applied to over 1,000 jobs during my undergrad because, at the end of the day, you only need one good offer. I encourage everyone to be confident, apply every day, and keep your resume in top shape. Don’t be discouraged by just 50 applications—keep going until you get that call. Good luck to everyone!
Side note: People say that Baruch sucks and never offered them anything positive. These are both very established firms that had nothing but good things to say about Baruch Alumni, labeling them hard-working.
