Please be polite to the people you’re interacting with at CUNY. The people you call and talk to are human beings and it’s absolutely disgusting that staffers are hanging up the phones in tears because someone on the other end is calling them names and wishing death and r@pe on them. It’s extra appalling to be abused like that when the situation you (people in general) are mad about is one you caused.
Literally (and I mean that in the proper sense) no one who works for a college is sitting around doing nothing the day before a new semester begins. What kind of jerk decides to apply for admission or financial aid or e-permits or dorms or scholarships or graduation or meal plans or whatever the hell it is the freaking day before school starts?? And why is your lack of preparedness and initiative suddenly our fault? We didn’t make you eff around all spring and summer but we get all the nasty emails, voicemails, and calls.
Every single one of us is cramming task after task to get you what you want even though it’s your own fault you waited until the last possible second and you have the balls to abuse the people who are doing you a kindness? We don’t have to hurry for you but we do it anyway because most of us are nice people and don’t want students to have a hard time. But man, this disgusting treatment we get really doesn’t make it worth the effort.
